About the Project

Objectives

  1. To set the stage for the development of an international data repository of patient-level data from randomized and non-randomized studies of patients undergoing Total Knee Arthroplasty. This will be through the identification of additional collaborators and the creation of an international network, including patient partners, joint replacement surgeons, trialists, clinical epidemiologists, and knowledge users (for this stage we have received funding from a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Planning and Dissemination Grants in February 2023).
  2. To perform a systematic review and IPD meta-analysis of randomized and non-randomized studies to investigate perioperative prognostic factors of chronic pain after Total Knee Arthroplasty.
  3. To develop a risk prediction model for chronic post-surgical pain in patients who undergo Total Knee Arthroplasty and assess internal and external validity and robustness of the risk prediction algorithm.
